National Scientific Conference 2024

“Green Economy and Sustainable Development (GESD)”

The purpose of the Conference

Promoting growth towards a green and sustainable economy, while being prepared to tackle climate change, has been emphasized as a key policy by our Party and State. In celebration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM), the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH), in collaboration with the Institute for Environment and Resources (VNU-HCM), the Vietnam Geography Association, Dong Nai University of Technology, and Dong Thap University, will jointly organize the 2024 National Conference on "Green Economy and Sustainable Development".

The conference is intended to be held annually to create a platform for scientists, lecturers, researchers, graduate students, and students to exchange information, share research findings, and present scientific achievements. The main objectives include:

1. To establish a forum for exchanging scientific and technological research outcomes related to environmental protection, aimed at promoting the development of a green and sustainable socio-economy.

2. To facilitate scientists’ understanding of practical needs while expanding cooperation in research, training, and technology transfer in the fields of environmental management, resource conservation, and climate change adaptation.

• Format: In-person

Conference Topics
The scientific sessions will focus on the following main topics:

1. Circular economy, green economy, and climate change adaptation.
2. Green technology and low-carbon initiatives.
3. Sustainable livelihoods
4. Climate change response and environmental incident management
5. Digital transformation and artificial intelligence for a green economy
6. Sustainable resource management and development
7. Other related topics

Submission Deadlines

• Title and abstract submission deadline: September 30, 2024
• Full paper submission deadline: October 30, 2024

Post-Conference Publication
Selected papers, after peer review, will be published in the conference proceedings with an ISBN (Vietnamese) expected in the first quarter of 2025, or in the IOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science (English, Scopus-indexed) expected in the third quarter of 2025.

For those interested in contributing papers, please refer to the following instructions:

• Guidelines for submissions in Vietnamese:

   -       Submissions should be typed on A4 paper (210 x 297 mm) using Times New Roman (Unicode) font, size 12, with the following margins: left 3 cm, right 2.5 cm, top 3 cm, bottom 3 cm (including images), and single line spacing (see attached template).
   -       Submissions should include: Title; Abstract (under 300 words in both Vietnamese and English); Keywords (3-5 words in both Vietnamese and English); Main Content. Citations should follow the "Citation and Anti-Plagiarism Regulations" issued by Decision No. 03/QĐ-XHNV-TTPC-SHTT dated January 23, 2024, by the President of USSH, VNU-HCM (see attached appendix) .
   -       Submitted papers must not have been published in any other books, journals, or conference proceedings. The scientific committee will conduct a peer-review process.
